In this presentation we demonstrate VisualHDL – an Integrated Development Environment (IDE) that simplifies RT-level development by providing a VHDL-based language that supports C++-like templates, inheritance, type derivation, and many other features targeted to make development more comfortable. We demonstrate results from several research and industrial projects developed using VisualHDL and explain how short development time has been achieved through excessive code reuse and modular testing.
